Project Description

Security operations at Merit Medical Systems requested an efficient way to vet – in real time – hundreds of vehicles entering Merit Medical Systems’ campus without slowing the flow of traffic.

AES Systems installed and integrated Genetec VMS License Plate Recognition Cameras (LPR) at every point of entry into Merit Medical Systems’ campus.

To monitor the LPR cameras, computer workstations with Genetec VMS software were installed in each guard shack to vet vehicles in real-time against an active database of current employees, terminated employees, contractors, delivery drivers, and visitors. The system displays vehicle status to guards before vehicles reach the entry gates.

AES Systems assembled all supporting camera components in NEMA rated junction boxes which house power supplies, surge protection, and network connections. Merit Medical Systems’ IT operations team provides a virtual server to host the Genetec recording server database for campus connectivity.

AES Systems’ ongoing service and quarterly maintenance ensures long-term system viability.
