Project Description:

The security operations at Merit Medical needed an effective and efficient way of verifying and screening the hundreds of vehicles that enter their campus each day.

The integration of License Plate Recognition (LPR) camera system at all vehicle entry points, would provide an instant verification against an active database or “Hot Lists” of current employees, terminated employees, contractors, deliveries drivers, and visitors. This (LPR) system would provide the security operations team the critical information in real time to screen all vehicles effectively and efficiently.

AES Systems installed a total of three (LPR) cameras at the Merit Campus. One at the main entry, one at the delivery gate and one at the south gate. AES assembled all supporting camera components in NEMA rated Junction boxes to house the power supplies, surge protection, and network connections. Computer workstations with Genetec VMS software were installed by AES technicians, in each guard shack for real-time visual verification.
Merit’s IT operations team provided a virtual server to host the Genetec recording server database for campus connectivity.

AES continues in providing service, and quarterly maintenance for Merit Medical’s Genetec License Plate Recognition camera system.
